The Colonial Terrace is located at 13th Street and San Antonio, in Carmel-by-the-Sea (see map below).  For advance room reservations at the hotel or any other inquiries, call our reservations office at (831) 624-2741 or toll-free in the U.S. and Canada at (800) 345-8220. Reservation hours are 8:00am to 9:00pm Pacific Standard Time, 7 days a week.

Driving Directions From San Francisco Bay Area

  • Highway 101 south through San Jose, then through Gilroy to Prunedale
  • Proceed to Highway 156 west to the Monterey Peninsula
  • Highway 156 turns into Highway 1. Proceed south to Monterey/Carmel
  • Turn right on Rio Road; Rio Road turns into 13th Avenue
  • Continue on 13th Avenue, turn right on San Antonio

Directions from Los Angeles Area

  • Highway 101 north to Salinas
  • In Salinas proceed to Highway 68 west to Monterey Peninsula
  • At the end of Highway 68 proceed south on Highway 1 to
  • Monterey/Carmel
  • Turn right on Rio Road; Rio Road turns into 13th Avenue
  • Continue on 13th Avenue, turn right on San Antonio

Note: For those coming north on Scenic Highway 1 through Big Sur, please make a left onto Rio Road and proceed down 13th Street, then turn right onto San Antonio.
